C2E2 2017 Review
I went to C2E2 2017 and it was awesome!
First, we went over to the cosplay area. There were a tons of swords and masks and costumes! After that, we headed to Artist Alley to meet and talk to some amazing artists and publishers and look at great artwork. I met Brian Stelfreeze (Black Panther, DC Comics), Shawn Pryor (Cash & Carrie), Ashley S. Benson / Asherbee and others.
I did several interviews with incredible artists like Larry Stroman/comic illustrator (Tribe, X-Men, Ghost Rider), Marcus Williams/Illustrator (Tuskegee Heirs), Todd Black/Writer & Publisher (Guardians, Home), Ashley A. Woods/Illustrator (Millennia War, Niobe: She Is Life, Ladycastle), Greg Wright (Holliston: Friendship Is Tragic), Steffon Thomas and Christopher Ikpoh (The Creative Extreme) and Alex Stensby/Mad Cave Studios. Also, I spoke to Phil & Eddie, two creators of a miniature strategy board game called Wanted Earth. It’s a really cool concept and it’ll be on Kickstarter soon. These interviews can be heard on my site.
After the interviews, we went to a panel about authors who write characters with super powers. The panel was titled (I’m Super, Thanks for Asking: How Authors Pull Off Creating Super-Powered Characters in SFF). There were several authors like Daniel Jose Older giving their ideas about super powers in their books. Another panel was Write Or Wrong: Creating Comics by the Numbers by Dirk Manning. He gave advice on how he made his comics and what he learned. The last panel we attended was Game Design-The Crash Course which was a lot shorter than we expected.
I bought 16 comic books and took pictures with amazing co-splayers! Overall, C2E2 was really fun! Unfortunately, we missed Stan Lee, Mike Colter (Netflix’s Luke Cage) and Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven from Stranger Things), who was there Sunday. If you haven’t been and you like comics, meeting people, books, or TV, then you should definitely go next year. Make sure to listen to the interviews and look at the pics. Also, I’ll be putting more characters for my own projects, The Great Force and MiniWorld soon!
Enjoy the photos and interviews! Don’t forget to leave comments and share my website!
